What updates has Only One made to its impact plans since July 1, 2024?

We created our membership to make it easy for people everywhere to fund impactful ocean and climate projects in one place.

As of July 1, our impact plans include funding important ocean advocacy campaigns to help propel them to victory, meaning your contributions do even more for people and the planet. Each campaign you support is tracked on your profile for full visibility, just like the projects you fund, with 100% of donations going directly to impact, as always.

To make space for advocacy campaigns, we’ve slightly reduced the number of mangroves and corals planted, as well as the amount of plastic removed, per plan each month. These adjustments allow us to maintain current plan costs while continuing to partner with the most impactful ocean projects.

We’ve also streamlined our plans by removing carbon reduction as a separate category — but every member will still fund projects tackling the climate crisis, such as restoring mangrove forests.

Can I change or cancel my plan?

You can manage it directly on your profile when you’re logged in, or reach out to us via email at [email protected].

Are you a registered nonprofit organization?

Yes, Only One is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the U.S. 100% of donations from our plans go directly to ocean projects and campaigns. You can track every cent you contribute, and we even cover your credit or debit card processing fees, so it truly is 100% to impact.

How do 100% of funds go directly to impact?

Every single cent from our impact plans is allocated directly to on-the-ground projects and advocacy campaigns. We even cover your credit or debit card processing fees, so it truly is 100% to impact. This is made possible through the generous support of a small community of private donors we call The Current, who fund our operations.

Who conducts the work on the ground?

Our expanding network of project partners consists of carefully vetted, highly experienced conservation organizations. Each partner must provide detailed reporting and proof of their work in the field. We digitally track every single tree, coral, and kilogram of plastic.

How do you show my impact?

We are committed to full transparency, for every cent you contribute.

For projects, we provide geo-location data, field photos, and a unique identifier for each tree, coral, and kilogram of plastic funded by your contributions.

For campaigns, we display a counter on your profile indicating which campaigns your funds have supported, and provide real-time updates on ocean policy developments to keep you informed of your impact.

Where can I view updates on my projects and campaigns?

We share bite-sized stories directly on your profile as soon as they’re available and continue to do so regularly. These updates feature campaign news and behind-the-scenes glimpses of projects, showing real-time impact and offering more opportunities to engage with others in our community. You’ll also receive monthly updates via email in your donation receipt.

Is my plan tax deductible?

Yes, your impact plan is tax deductible if you are a U.S. taxpayer. You will receive an email confirmation and donation receipt every month.
